It's supposedly a weapon of great power, so obviously we can't let it stay in the enemies' hands.
Specifically, Maia's father searched his entire life looking for it. Maia briefs you that the vrultok have yet another artifact that belongs to Aven. Acolyte Maia (in front of the Hollow Pine Inn, remember) has a new side quest for you. Once you have done so, return to Aven for a moment. There's a teleporter here, so be sure to trip it. Speaking of that, the enemies here seem to be big on ice, so be sure to load up on ice-resistant armor if you can. You'll have some mid-sized vrultok again, but they're joined by skeleton warrior and an icy version of the tree monsters you've seen before. The same strategy as you did with The Dreamkeeper applies here: just get in close, and swing away.įinally, a change of enemies and scenery.
She's similar to The Dreamkeeper, although her distance spell is akin to a homing missile: an icy bolt will track you down and smack you no matter how you run around. There is a boss on Level 1 named Persephone. Same enemies you've been fighting for the last hour. Like the Forbidden Alter, there's not much here on any of the three floors. Sounds warm and inviting, doesn't it? It's our only option though, so enter it once you find it. There's a pool you can't do anything with yet, but there's also an exit to a place called the Temple of Nightmares. You'll also have to deal with some ghosts, but they're weak too. Like their magic-using twins, they have little life and go down easily. I suppose the term "sorceress" is incorrect, but still, it's a brunette chick who charges you and tries to punch you to death.
The enemies here are mostly the sorceresses you've been facing, although a new breed is here. Well, maybe it's not that bad, but it's sparkly and colorful! The walls here look like something you'd see if you took a hit of cocaine, marijuana, and LSD washed down with a double shot of vodka. Same enemies, no mini-bosses or big bosses, nothing. I hate to sound like I'm copping out of this guide all of a sudden… But honestly, there ain't nothing here.
