I use CloudStation Backup for when I just want a single computer to be backed up, and I don't need/want the files to sync to multiple machines (eg my work PC backs up to my Synology, but I don't want those files synced to my personal laptop, as an example) No need to "map drives" or do anything like that - just work on your the files on your local storage and Drive will keep them in sync between systems and your Synology (just like Dropbox or Onedrive).ĬloudSync lets your Synology sync files to your other cloud storage (like DropBox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc).

If I access a file on my laptop/desktop/anywhere I know it's most up-to-date (ala Dropbox) - but also not have this bite me in the butt if one of my workstations becomes corrupt/infected and I lose access to everything (aka the ability to 'Roll back'). What I'm trying to do is eliminate redundancy of my data.
